1960 Ford Thunderbird
Last year of the "Square Birds".
This rotisserie restored red with tan top and bucket seated interior 4 place sports car boasts the ultra rare "430" tri-power engine, power steering, windows and brakes and individual power front seats. The true wire wheels are mated to wide whitewalls. Note the disappearing top and exquisite interior.
1963 Volkswagen "Beetle"
sliding canvas top
Black lacquer with red interior and matching fender welts, this is the cutest of all VW's with its sliding canvas roof, and rooftop carrier for luggage and picnic baskets. Using an efficient 4 cyl air cooled engine and 4 spd manual transmission to earn 35+ miles per gallon on regular fuel this cutie will pass most gas stations if not other cars. With a requiem for the 2009 VW advertising campaign and Mexico manufacturing them under license for decades after Germany gave up on it, the Beetle lives on.
1958 Chevrolet Impala Convertible
The very first of the Impalas,
new for 1958 brought a new, never to be repeated shape to the Chevrolet line. 348 ci of tri-power carburetion, bring on 300 hp mated to a heavy duty automatic transmission and dual exhausts. All of this power just begins to describe the experience of driving the stunning custom "Black Cherry Chevy" convertible beauty with a contrasting black canvas top. Note the seemingly endless array of chrome accessories - side mounted antennae and air scoops, door key and gas side chrome trim and rocket panel molding. Don't overlook the white sidewall tires and spinner wheel covers. "Fins" may have taken over in 1959 but the 1958 remains among the most collectible Chevrolets of all time - especially with a 348 powerplant.
1981 Delorean Gullwing
John Z.DeLoreans final act was this made in Ireland, European powered, gull winged stainless steel sports car. Along with power steering and power brakes and factory a/c this DeLorean has factory retrofitted sliding window ports. As there were no toll roads in Ireland in 1981, John Z. missed the fact that the gull wing doors would hit the toll baskets/windows in the States when the DeLorean hit our shores. The 6 cyl Renault powerplant and automatic transmission with its dual exhaust give power aplenty to this light weight eye catching collectible with historic significance beyond most cars of yesterday.
